坂本龍一のドキュメンタリー映画、英語字幕版が東京・愛知・大阪で上映

坂本龍一を映したドキュメンタリー映画「Ryuichi Sakamoto: Diaries」の英語字幕版が東京、愛知、大阪の劇場で上映されることが決定した。

2024年にNHKで放送された「Last Days 坂本龍一 最期の日々」をベースに製作された本作。坂本ががんに罹患して亡くなるまでの3年半にわたる闘病生活と、その中で行われた創作活動の様子が収められている。本人がつづった「日記」を軸に、遺族の全面協力のもと提供された貴重なプライベート映像やポートレート、未発表の音楽を交えながら、その軌跡をたどった。大森健生が監督を務め、生前坂本と親交のあった田中泯が日記の朗読を担当している。

英語字幕版は12月12日、13日に大阪・大阪ステーションシティシネマ、12月21日、22日に愛知・ミッドランドスクエア シネマ、12月22日から25日まで東京・Bunkamuraル・シネマ 渋谷宮下にて上映。なお英語字幕版では一部、日本語字幕がカットされ英語字幕のみになっている箇所がある。詳細は各劇場公式サイトで確認してほしい。

The English-subtitled version of the documentary film "Ryuichi Sakamoto: Diaries", which captures the final years of Ryuichi Sakamoto, is set to be screened at theaters in Tokyo, Aichi, and Osaka.

Based on the 2024 NHK documentary "Ryuichi Sakamoto: Last Days", the film documents the three and a half years of Sakamoto's battle with cancer leading up to his passing, along with the creative work he continued during that time. Centered around his personal diaries, it traces his final journey through rare private footage, portraits, and previously unreleased music provided with the full cooperation of his family. The film is directed by Takeo Omori, with the diary readings performed by Min Tanaka, a longtime friend of Sakamoto.

The English-subtitled version will screen at Osaka Station City Cinema on December 12 and 13; at Midland Square Cinema in Aichi on December 21 and 22; and at Bunkamura Le Cinéma Shibuya Miyashita in Tokyo from December 22 to 25. For details, please check each theater's official website.
